Tourism Cochrane is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Tourism Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the promotion and development of Cochrane as a premier four-season destination. This role is responsible for executing marketing strategies, enhancing and creating tourism products, building strong partnerships, and driving visitation and economic impact.

Job Title: Tourism Marketing & Communication Manager
Location: Cochrane, Ontario
Hours: 30 hours per week
Pay: $28.85 - $32.25 per hour

Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Strategy
- Execute the annual marketing plan, including integrated campaigns and year-round promotional programs
- Support the development and implementation of strategies to increase visitation and tourism growth
- Collaborate with regional, provincial, and national tourism organizations and government partners
Tourism Product Development
- Manage and enhance existing tourism products to ensure they remain competitive and market-ready
- Identify and develop new tourism products, packages, and experiences
- Conduct market research to identify trends, visitor needs, and opportunities
- Monitor product performance and recommend improvements based on data and feedback
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with local businesses, tourism operators, and stakeholders to support product development and delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional destination marketing organizations and industry partners
- Foster relationships with tour operators, travel agents, and tourism publications
Marketing Execution & Communications
- Support marketing initiatives through content development, itineraries, and promotional ideas
- Manage influencer partnerships, media relations, and public relations activities, including press releases and familiarization tours
- Contribute to and oversee website and social media content
- Develop campaigns to raise awareness of tourism and its economic benefits
Operations & Visitor Experience
- Ensure tourism products meet quality standards and deliver exceptional visitor experiences
- Create, coordinate and support tourism-related events and initiatives
- Respond to visitor inquiries across multiple communication channels
Funding & Grant Applications
- Identify, prepare, and submit funding and grant applications to support tourism marketing, product development, and special projects
- Manage reporting requirements for approved funding programs
- Work with partners to leverage additional funding opportunities and maximize investment in tourism initiatives
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare monthly reports for the Board of Directors, including visitor data, trends, and marketing activities
- Manage the marketing budget effectively, including tracking expenditures and reporting
Requirements
- One to two years Experience in tourism, marketing, communications, or a related field
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of destination marketing and tourism trends
- Experience in digital marketing, content creation, and campaign execution
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with partners
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
