Position: Student Maintenance Support (1 Position)
Eligibility: High School Student (End of June – End of August 2026)
Wage: $16.60/hour, 35 hours per week
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary

The Student Maintenance Support Worker will assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the Ininew Friendship Centre building and a separate cultural grounds site. This role provides hands-on experience in building maintenance, outdoor work, and general labour.

Key Responsibilities

• Support cleaning and janitorial duties within the centre and at the separate cultural grounds site
• Assist the Maintenance Worker with general maintenance tasks and picking up/organizing maintenance supplies
• Carry out general maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors
• Perform lawn care and outdoor maintenance, including mowing and general upkeep of grounds
• Assist with firewood chopping and other outdoor labour tasks
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times (steel-toe boots required; can be provided if needed)
• Demonstrate reliability, take initiative, and complete tasks efficiently

Qualifications

• Must be a high school student returning to school in Fall 2026
• Must identify as Indigenous (First Nation, Non-Status, Métis, or Inuit)
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
• Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
