The Receptionist is responsible for performing admitting, reception, and financial functions at the MICs Group of Health Services, under the direction of the Health Records Supervisor. This includes supporting patient admissions and discharges, managing inquiries, handling accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate records.
Key duties include registering inpatient, outpatient, and emergency visits; answering internal and external inquiries; directing patient information appropriately; processing payments and deposits; and preparing outgoing and incoming mail. The Receptionist also contributes to a safe and efficient healthcare environment by complying with workplace health and safety procedures.
This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with computers and accounting tasks, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload with professionalism and attention to detail. Bilingualism (English/French) and prior healthcare experience are considered assets.
Qualifications
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Post-secondary education in Office or Business Administration preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
Compensation
- Rate of pay: $28.52 / hour as per the SEIU collective agreement
- Percentage in lieu of benefits as per the SEIU collective agreement
- Eligibility to enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
